Our materials: Deadstock leather

Leather is sometimes a contentious material, especially in today’s world. With increasing climate disasters and political upheaval dominating headlines, many ask ; why aren’t we using more environmentally friendly alternatives? It’s a very valid question, and one we’ve given a great deal of thought to. So what’s our solution?

We aim to use as predominantly deadstock leather sourced from trusted local suppliers. This means the leather was originally produced for other, larger brands but has been left over after their manufacturing process. By using this deadstock leather, we actively reduce waste in the broader leather supply chain and avoid the need for new leather production, which ultimately lowers the environmental footprint of every product we create. One limitation of working with deadstock leather is the inconsistency in having the exact same material available each time. However, we embrace this challenge as a powerful catalyst for creativity—how can we transform these unique, varied materials into beautifully crafted pieces that stand out?
